An illustration of my friend's halfling rogue character. He and his brothers were part of a failed revolution in their home country and fled to another land with the dark secrets they learnt about their old government. (Thanks for writing that Mike )

After receiving some thoughtful advice on my last deviation that I put more detail into the characters - rather than always being biased towards backgrounds - I tried a completely different style where I painted a black & white image in Painter (for all the texture and what I hope is considered character detail) and then coloured (using the 'colour' layer setting rather than repainting it) and refined it in Photoshop. I doubt I'd try such an awkward method again but at least it made sure I used stronger contrast in the lighting, which is something I always struggle to do.
