This is for the ~narutofanclub contest. The contest runs for the whole month, and only started yesterday, but hey, I'm enthusiastic and with plenty of time on my hands =3.

Done in Photoshop, used a photo as a reference for the bg. He has a weird hair design btw – it's short at the back, with two long bits at the side which loop around and are fastened at the back. I'm a sucker for complicated hairstyles.

So here's my original nin's profile. Sorry about the length – I kept thinking of new things to add as I was writing.

Name: Fuzaino, Senritsu*
Age: 15
Ranking: Snow village Genin.

History: Lives with his father, two sisters and mother's grandparents. His father is a Chuunin who is a bit absent-minded when it comes to looking after his kids. He left most of the child raising and disciplinary actions to his wife, Rin: a Jounin who was killed four years ago on a mission to the Stone country. Thankfully, his wife's parents were already living with them in order to both save on living expenses (they're stingy with money) and look after the kids while Rin was working, so it wasn't difficult for them to take over the role of main carer once she was killed. Senritsu doesn't always like his family – he wishes his grandparents could be normal and buy him new things occasionally, instead of making him mend his broken ones; he wishes his younger sisters (aged 9 and 7) weren't so loud and would stop begging him to play ninja with them, and he wishes his father would take a more active role in the household. Despite that, he does love them all, and would feel weird if they weren't there.

When he was younger, Senritsu went through the unpleasant (for everyone else) stage of being an obnoxious brat. He was easily annoyed by his family and everyone else, and would spend most of his time lounging on a tree or snow bank somewhere, letting his mind wander. In an attempt to bring him into line and instill some military obedience, his grandfather suggested enrolling him in the local ninja accademy, which his stressed mother agreed to. He still isn't the most friendly guy in the world, but being forced to pay attention in class and work with others has done Senritsu some good, and he's now almost likeable.

Likes: Thinking, making ice sculptures, watching the world go by, talking to birds (even though they don't talk back).

Dislikes: cold water, his grandmother's cooking (she boils out all the flavour), whiny girls, being hassled, traveling to warm climates (especially humid or sandy ones).

Jutsu used: Apart from the basic jutsu taught to all genin, he's also learnt various ice jutsu from his parents, as well as being moderately skilled in Taijutsu thanks to training with his grandfather. His favourite jutsu is the Mieru Busoukaijo (visual disarmament) – a genjutsu he created which adjusts the perception of enemies. They begin to see the world around them as a series of dizzying shapes and patterns, which then start to spin to make them feel really nauseous. It doesn't do any damage, but makes it easier for running away or attacking further.

Weapons used: Apart from the basic kunai and shuriken, he doesn't use any ninja weapons. He prefers either fighting unarmed, or using his ice ninjutsu to attack enemies from a distance (or close-range if he's really desperate).

Future goals, dreams, and hopes: When he was a surly six year old, he wanted to be a hermit and live in the mountains. He's come to realise that living without any other person might not be so great though, so now his dream is to live to old age (a difficult enough achievement for a ninja) and spend his remaining days doing as he pleases (which will probably consist of nothing in particular).

Extra Info: If someone from his village was asked to describe him in one word, many of them would probably choose " dreamer", and would promptly follow it up with a rant on how this is a bad thing – shinobi with their heads in the clouds are often a liability on missions. Senritsu himself would prefer " detached" as a description, since his vacant attitude is mostly a result of not particularly caring about the world around him, and he never dreams much anyway.

Given that ninja are required to be observant to live, it would seem like a Really Stupid Idea for someone who occasionally walks into low-hanging tree branches to be placed in a position where he must dodge sharp objects being thrown at him by unfriendly ninja, and to also be responsible for his teammates lives.

To be fair though, Senritsu isn't as hopeless a ninja as his family expected, and since becoming a genin he's actually begun to pay attention – partly because he's found something interesting in life, and partly because his teammates are likely to throw something at him if he doesn't. He still likes staring at the patterns the trees make, watching the snow fall and pondering the meaning of life, but now he's started to watch (and actually care about) other people too.

*One way to grab his attention is to shorten his name to Sen, a name he considers too feminine. He's aware that it's easy enough to mistake him for a girl and refer to him as one, but that doesn't mean he won't try to kill you if you do.
